“संबन्धाः नाहं, न वा मम” इति कथं ज्ञेयम्
पितृपुत्रसंबन्धः, गुरुशिष्यसंबन्धः, स्त्रीपुरुषसंबन्धः, स्वामिसेवकसंबन्धः इत्यादयः संबन्धाः स्थूलदेहस्य संबन्धाः मिथ्यात्मकाः। विचारेण संबन्धमूलं कुत्रापि न लभ्यते। यतोहं स्थूलदेहविलक्षणः, नाहं संबन्धो, न वा संबन्धो मम। संबन्धः स्थूलदेहे आरोपितः। अहं संबन्धद्रष्टा घटद्रष्टृवत् तद्विलक्षणः।
how do I know that I am not a sambandha, and it is not mine
Relationships like those between father and son, guru and śiṣya, husband and wife, supervisor and subject belong to the gross body and are of the nature of mithyā. When we inquire, we do not find the root of the relationship anywhere. Since I am different from the gross body, I am not a relationship, nor is it mine. It is superimposed on the gross body. I am it’s seer, like I see a pot, and am different from it.
