सृष्टेः पूर्वम्
सृष्टेः पूर्वं जीवस्य उपाधिः अविद्या। जीवः कर्मसहितः मायायां लीनो भवति। सा माया ब्रह्मणो भिन्नत्वेन नैव प्रतीयते, सुषुप्तौ अविद्या यथा। सृष्टेः पूर्वं सजातीयविजातीयस्वगतभेदरहितः एक अद्वितीयः सच्चिदानन्दरूपः ब्रह्म एव आसीत्।
Prior to creation
Even prior to creation, jīvas have avidyā as their upādhi. The jīvas along with the karmas rest in māyā. This māyā – just like avidyā – does not manifest apart from brahman. Prior to creation, only brahman – which is singular, without a second, devoid of differentes, is sat cit ānanda – was there.
