ईश्वरः जीवश्च अनादिकल्पितौ। ईश्वरस्य उपाधिः मायानामकः एकः आपेक्षिकव्यापकः। अतः ईश्वरोऽपि एकः व्यापकः। जीवस्य उपाधिः अविद्या नाना परिच्छिन्ना। अतः जिवाः नानाः परिच्छिनाश्च। जीवेश्वरयोः भेदः अनादिकल्पितः।
How many jīvas and īśvaras are there
Īśvara and jīva are both projected without a beginning. Īśvara whose upādhi māyā is singular pervades in a relative way. Thus īśvara too is singular and pervades in a relative way.
The upādhi of jīva is avidyā which is many and limited. Thus jīvās are many and limited.
There is a beginningless kalpita bheda between jīvas and īśvara.
