13.230.2   उपासनायाः फलं किम्?

ज्ञानोदयात् पूर्वं पूर्णतया अनुष्ठिता उपासना येन सः कृतोपासनः। येन उपासना नानुष्ठिता, सः अकृतोपासनः। एवं चतुर्थभूमिकारूपज्ञानाधिकारी द्विप्रकारकः।

कृतोपासनः सम्यग्वैराग्यादिसाधनसंपन्नः ज्ञानानन्तरं अल्पाभ्यासेन पञ्चमादिभूमिकायां आरूढो भवति। अकृतोपासनस्तु सर्वाणि साधनानि स्पष्टतया नैव प्रतीयेरन्। द्वित्राणि प्रकटीभवन्ति, अन्यानि गुप्ताः तिष्ठन्ति। यद्यपि बुद्धिमता चतुर्थभूमिकारूपं तत्वज्ञानं प्राप्यते, चिरकालाभ्यासेन कदाचित् केनचित् पञ्चमादिभूमिकायां आरूढो भवति, न कदापि झटिति।

॥इति श्रीविचारचन्द्रोदये सप्तज्ञानभूमिकावर्णनं नाम त्रयोदशी कला समाप्ता॥

One who performed sufficient upāsanā prior to the dawn of jñāna is kr̥topāsana. One who did not perform upāsanā is akr̥topāsanā. Thus, the adhikārī for the fourth bhūmikā is twofold.

One who is kr̥topāsanā, and has vairāgya and other sādhanas can move to the fifth bhūmikā etc with little effort. In the akr̥topāsanā, all the sādhanās will not be clear. Two of three will be clear, and the rest will be hidden. Even though intelligent, he reaches the fourth bhūmikā, only through great effort can a few sometimes reach the fifth and following bhūmikās, and never quickly.
