जाग्रदवस्था इत्यनेन किं सिद्ध्यती
जाग्रदवस्थायां सत्यां अहं ज्ञाता। स्वप्नसुषुप्तयोः जाग्रदवस्थाभावेऽपि अहं ज्ञाता। एवं नाहं जाग्रदवस्था न सा मम। इयं स्थूलदेहस्य। अहं तज्ज्ञः साक्षी घटसाक्षिवत् तद्विलक्षणः। एवं अहं जाग्रदवस्थायां साक्षी।
What is the result of knowing the jāgrat avasthā
In the jāgrat avasthā, I am the knower. In it’s absence in the svapna and suṣḥupti avasthās, I am the knower. Thus, I am not the jāgrat avasthā, nor is it mine. It belongs to the sthūla deha. I am it’s knower, the sākṣī, like I am the knower of the ghaṭa – I am different from it. Thus, I am the sākṣī of the jāgrat avasthā.
