पुण्यपापयोः कर्ता तत्फलभूतसुखदुःखादिभोक्ता नाहं, कर्तृत्वभोक्तृत्वं न मम धर्मः इति कथं ज्ञेयम्
यद्वस्तु विकारि, तत् क्रियावत् कर्तृ। अहं निर्विकारी कूटस्थः न क्रियाश्रयः। अतः पुण्यपापरूपक्रियायाः नाहं कर्ता। यो न कर्ता, स न भोक्ता। अतः ये अन्तःकरणधर्माः, न मम। अहं तद्द्रष्टा घटद्रष्टृवत् तद्विलक्षणः। इति ज्ञेयम्।
how do I know that I am not kartā or bhoktā
Anything subject to change must move. I am the immovable kūṭastha and do not support action. Thus, I am not the doer of puṇya and pāpa. One who is not the kartā cannot be the bhoktā. Thus, these are antaḥkaraṇa dharmas, and not mine. I see them as I see a pot and am different from them. Thus, it must be known.
