स्वप्नावस्थानां अहं ज्ञाता। जाग्रत्सुषुप्तयोः स्वप्नावस्थाभावे अहं ज्ञाता। नाहं स्वप्नावस्था, न तन्मम। अहं तज्ज्ञः घटसाक्षिवत् तद्विलक्षणः। इति साध्यते। एवं अहं स्वप्नावस्थायाः साक्षी।
What is the result of knowing this
In the svapna avasthā, I am the knower. In it’s absence in the jāgrat and suṣḥupti avasthās, I am the knower. Thus, I am not the svapna avasthā, nor is it mine. I am it’s knower, the like I am the knower of the ghaṭa – I am different from it. Thus, I am the sākṣī of the svapna avasthā.
