त्रिपुटीनां एकस्याभावे व्यवहारो न संभवति। यथा – इन्द्रियसत्त्वे देवतासत्त्वे विषयाभावे व्यवहारस्य अभावः। विषयसत्त्वे इन्द्रियसत्त्वे देवताभावे व्यवहारस्य अभावः। इति सर्वत्र ज्ञेयम्।
What is the nature of the tripuṭīs
In the absence of any one part of the tripuṭī, there is no vyavahāra. If the indriya and devatā are present, but the viṣaya is absent, there is no vyavahāra. If the viṣaya and indriya are present, but the devatā is absent, there is no vyavahāra. Thus, it should be known for all of them.
