अन्नमयकोशादहं विलक्षणः इति कथं ज्ञेयम्
जन्मनः पूर्वं मरणादनन्तरं च अन्नमयकोशस्य (स्थूलशरीरस्य) अभावः। अतः अयं उत्पत्तिविनाशवान् घटवत् कार्यम्। अहं सदा भावरूपः उत्पत्तिविनाशरहितः तद्विलक्षणः।
एवं नाहं अन्नमयकोशः न तन्मम। इदं स्थूलदेहरूपम्। अहं तद्द्रष्टा आत्मा तद्विलक्षणः। अनया रीत्या अन्नमयकोशः मद्विलक्षणः। इति ज्ञेयम्।
How do I know that I am different from the annamaya kośa
The annamaya kośa is not present before birth or after death. It is a product – just as a pot is a product subject to creation and destruction. On the other hand, I always exist, and am not subject to creation or destruction.
Thus, I am different from the annamaya kośa. I am not it, and it is not mine. It is the sthūla deha. I am it’s witness and am different from it. In this way, I know the annamaya kośa to be different from myself.
